Quilts for Purchase or Exhibition

Most of my work since the 1980s has involved printing and photographic processes, especially cyanotype and photo transfer or digital photo printing and textile assemblage.
The quilts in this section are displayed beginning with the most recent and ending with the oldest. They may be purchased, or borrowed by institutions for exhibition. Prices range from $300 to $3000 (up to 50% more if purchased through a gallery), plus shipping. These are my wholesale prices, to individuals or the trade. PHOTO QUILT COMMISSIONS: I offer commemmorative wall quilts created from your digital photographs, and I can also scan your photos, 35mm slides, and 4x5 transparencies. Created via photo assemblage techniques from inkjet photo transfers on cotton twill, quilts in STYLE A with appliqued photos have a cotton background of solid colors in a distinctive palette (see first two photos below). These works have a thin wool batting and are decoratively hand-quilted by me using embroidery thread or machine-quilted, depending on the design. Your photo quilt can be pieced, appliqued, or a combination of techniques. I can also work with a single photograph, tessellated and pieced in STYLE B to create a complex design (see third photo below, machine quilted). Your photo quilt is delivered with a sleeve on the back and installation rod, ready for hanging. The sizes for commissions are ca. 30 x 30 inches for $2300 in STYLE A and $1800 in STYLE B, ca. 36 x 36 inches for $3000 in STYLE A and $2400 in STYLE B, or ca. 40 x 40 inches for $4,000 in STYLE A and $3,000 in STYLE B. Commissions require a 50% payment upon completion of half the project (documented via photos), and payment of the balance before the quilt is shipped. With advance notice, I can usually complete such a photo quilt commission within two months. (Please note that I retain copyright on each quilt, reserving the non-exlusive right to publish it, and that all my work is created in a non-smoking, pet-free environment.)

Except for commissioned quilts, purchasers may return any quilt (in its original condition, purchaser paying for shipping) within one month of receiving it, with a full refund of the purchase price. I am happy for purchasers to pay me over a period of up to three months for works costing $1000 or more, with the quilt shipped upon final payment. Personal checks, cashiers’ checks, and money orders in U.S. dollars are accepted as payment. Having my quilts in public collections is a major goal in my career as a quilt artist. Except for commissioned quilts, please note that non-profit institutions will have a 30% discount on my prices, as will any collectors who promise that a purchased quilt eventually will be donated to such an institution.
