Diplomatic Dialogue 5: LGBTQ+ worldwide
47 x 37 in.
Materials: Cotton fabric, acrylic paint, cotton embroidery thread, metal peace symbol charms, metal rainbow charms
Techniques: Machine piecing, stamp printing, hand stitching, hand painting
Statement: As our country was preparing to commemorate its 250th anniversary, my thoughts turned to violent conflicts, past and present. My hope is that diplomacy and common sense might prevail, replacing bloodshed, hate, and the self-centered pursuit of pernicious goals. This quilt commemorates the 50th anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall riots in New York City, a pivotal event in the struggles of the gay rights movement.
Exhibited: Artifact Projects, NYC, April 8-25, 2026 (solo show)
